John Deere launches 'Road to the Horse' competition
The major prize in John Deere's 'Road to the Horse' competition is a trip to Lexington, Kentucky, USA and see Australia's Dan Steers from Double Dan Horsemanship perform at the 2014 Road to the Horse competition this March.
The prize includes flights (from major airports) and five nights' accommodation for one lucky winner and guest to see Steers in action in Kentucky's world competition of horsemanship skill.
Since expanding to the United States in 2011, Double Dan Horsemanship has experienced enormous success. Dan Steers from the Double Dans says, "Road to the Horse is a professional horsemanship competition showcasing the skills of elite horse trainers from around the world.
"The aim of Road to the Horse is to teach horsemen and women that natural horsemanship is a kinder, gentler way of working with horses. The lucky winner of the John Deere competition and guest will have the chance to see me perform at the prestigious 2014 Road to the Horse competition in the USA."
Dan Steers grew up in the South West of Western Australia and was first introduced to horses in his early teens; he then began working with different master farriers and horsemen around Australia.
In 2008, Steers joined his good friend Dan James at El Caballo Spanish Horse Centre, where they performed as 'The Dan & Dan Show' refining their showmanship and training skills. In 2009 Dan & Dan relocated their training business to North Arm Cove, NSW and 'Double Dan Horsemanship' was born. In 2012 Dan James went on to win the Road to the Horse title as part of 'Team Australia'.
John Deere has been supporting the Equine industry in Australia and New Zealand with products such as GatorTM utility vehicles, tractors, riding lawn equipment and everything in between.
"We are very excited about offering such a great prize to our equine customers, and we're very passionate about our John Deere products which work in sync with equine farms," says Steve Wright, John Deere Limited Marketing Manager.
"Our range of Gator vehicles, for example, make a perfect addition to any farm. They are suited to all types of terrain and our newer models have been altered to be more powerful, agile and faster than ever before. They're a true workhorse for any horse farm."
